Directed by Alexander Kluge
Curated by Atelier Impopulaire
Produced by dctp TV, Düsseldorf
Im Auge der Libelle is a web series presenting a new episode every Friday.
Im Auge der Libelle is a new constellation in Alexander Kluge’s moving image galaxy, exploring the relationships between art and history, science and culture, geopolitics and fiction.
Im Auge der Libelle has no archive: each episode is on view for one week on the Volksbühne’s website and is replaced by a new one the following week.
Im Auge der Libelle is conceived to create a bridge between the many facets of Volksbühne’s cultural life, with an eye on the past and the other on the future.
Writer and filmmaker Alexander Kluge is one of the leading intellectual voices in Germany today. His research and practice revolves around film, literature, social theory, film theory, television programs, and political action on various cultural fronts.
Atelier Impopulaire started collaborating with Alexander Kluge in 2016, releasing a film installation (Uncanny #3, 2016) and a short feature produced by Kairos Films (The Leaks of Venice, 2019). On the occasion of the Berlinale 70th anniversary they curated his solo exhibition Das Theater der Kinos (2020), presented at the Volksbühne.
